What does a support request cost you?
Put in your own numbers. No benchmarks, no vendor averages, just arithmetic.
Your numbers only. Nothing here is a benchmark; measure your real share with the free plan before you believe it.
How the maths works
Cost per request = minutes per request ÷ 60 × hourly wage × (1 + overhead). Monthly cost = cost per request × requests per month. The "with an assistant" figure removes the share of requests you said are already answered on your site and adds the plan price. Hours back = deflected requests × minutes per request.
The weak number is the share. Most teams guess high. The honest way to get it: run the free plan for two weeks, look at Analytics → Resolved by AI, and put that in.
Frequently asked questions
- What is a typical cost per ticket?
- It varies by channel and country far too much for a single figure to be useful. Chat handled by a generalist in a small business is usually a few dollars; email and phone handled by specialists is a multiple of that. Use your own wage and handling time.
- Does the calculator include the cost of writing knowledge?
- No. Budget a few hours to add Q&A for your top questions in the first week; after that it is minutes per week.
- Why is overhead included?
- Because an hour of someone's time costs more than their hourly wage: employer taxes, software, management, holidays. 20 to 35 percent is common for small businesses.
